Alligator Gar Scales 1 Pound Bag For Crafts And Jewelry Making
This listing is for a 1 pound bag of random, mixed size Louisiana alligator gar (Atractosteus spatula) scales.
The alligator gar is a prehistoric fish that resembles an alligator. Two rows of teeth line their jaws. The listing photos are generic photos we took of some of our gar scales. The dollar bill, not included, is there to give you an idea of the size. We do not dye our scales or clean them with bleach. We allow bugs to break them down before boiling them and soaking them in peroxide. we then sundry them. Some scales may be a beautiful white, while others may be darker or have slight stains or imperfections.
You can find directions online for dying them any color you like. People make some cool things with these (flowers, earrings, and necklaces for example) or simply add them to their oddities collection.
Our products are not toys and are not intended for children or pets (dogs have been known to eat them). The heads may have sharp teeth, which could cause injury. In purchasing this product you accept all responsibility and acknowledge we are not responsible for any injuries or damages resulting from the use or misuse of this product.
NOTE: All of our alligator products are from legally harvested gators and come with the tag number assigned to them by Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries. They all come from Louisiana alligators harvested either during government-regulated hunts or by licensed farms, which are legally permitted to harvest gators. We maintain, through the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, licenses for conducting business as an alligator parts retailer/dealer.
The American alligator is classified as CITES Appendix II. Trade of American alligator skins, parts, skulls, etc., is legal inside the 50 US states or US territories..
